Fatemeh Rahdar was a fifth-grade student.
Fatemeh was the only child in her family.
Her mother says:
“We lived with the hope that one day she would serve her people. We dreamed that one day she would become a doctor and serve her country.”
She says she has made a vow to God:
“I made a covenant with God that I will build a school, so that as long as this world exists, children will remember you.”
Her father says that the family has preserved its spirit and faith.
“They say the hand of God is above all hands.”
Fatemeh was the only child of a home that had placed its hopes in her future: a daughter who was expected to grow, to study, to heal, and to serve. Now that future has been taken, but her mother’s vow has turned grief into a promise: a school in Fatemeh’s name, so that children may continue learning where her own learning was stopped.
