Ahmadreza and Javad Sartakzadeh were two brothers. Ahmadreza was in fifth grade, and Javad was in second grade.
Their mother remembers the day of the attack, Feb 28, as the day her life broke apart. As she came closer to Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, her legs could no longer carry her. The part of the school where her sons’ classrooms had been leveled to the ground.
Then she saw the bodies of her children, torn into pieces.
For fifty days afterward, she says, she could neither sleep nor eat. There has been no peace for her. Her only wish is simple and impossible: to hold her sons once more.
“I miss them so much,” she says.
Ahmadreza and Javad were brothers in life, and they became part of the same wound in death: two sons taken from one mother, two schoolboys who should have returned home together.
