Mohammad Sharifi is one of the 96 children who survived the attack. He was injured in this war crime.
He told his family that, at first, he felt as if there had been an earthquake. After the first missile hit, Mohammad came out of the office but could not see anything clearly. He only saw a girl, whom the family later learned was Roghayeh Salari. Roghayeh was burning, and Mohammad went to rescue her.
After rescuing Roghayeh, he looked behind him and saw that the school stairs had collapsed.
Mohammad’s father said:
“At night in the hospital, Mohammad would throw himself off the bed and scream, ‘Why are you hitting me? Don’t hit the school.’
Mohammad still smells smoke. Sometimes, suddenly, he screams at home.
Mohammad’s aunt and sister were martyred.”
