Mohammad Sadegh Gholami was a first-grade student.
His mother shows the shoes he left behind as a keepsake and says:
“He went to Karbala twice wearing these shoes. I had asked him, ‘Take me with you the third time.’ But Mohammad Sadegh was martyred, and we never had the chance to go to Karbala together.”
His father and mother both say:
“We offered our child to our country and to Islam.”
What remains of Mohammad Sadegh is a pair of small shoes, carrying the memory of two journeys to Karbala and the promise of a third journey that never came. He was only a first-grade child, but in the hearts of his parents, his life became an offering: a son given grief, faith, and a wound that will never close.
