Pouran Gholipour was the principal of Rahpouyan-e Shohaday-e Khalij-e Fars Boys’ School. She had remained at the school alongside her colleagues to hand the students over to their families.
When she heard the terrifying sound of the first explosion, she rushed in distress toward the classrooms to save the lives of the innocent students. This great self-sacrifice led her to give her own life for the children and attain the high rank of martyrdom.
When her body was found after thirty hours of searching, it became clear that in her final moments, she had held two of her students in her arms, with a devotion greater than any mother’s, giving her own life for them.
Her name has been recorded among the brightest examples of sacrifice and courage.
