Neda Solhizadeh, a fifth-grade teacher at Shajareh Tayyebeh Primary School in Minab, and her son, Hami Sadeghi, were among those killed in the Minab war crime.
Her husband, who received his wounded and shocked daughter from the police after the attack, later recounted in an interview that around 11 o’clock, Neda called him and said: “Tehran has been bombed. The school has been closed, and we have to call the students’ parents to come and take their children.”
He insisted that he would come to pick them up. But she said: “No, the children are my responsibility.”
They agreed that after she handed the students over to their families, she would call him.
The story of the teachers of Shajareh Tayyebeh School is the same story again and again: sacrifice and selflessness, giving their own lives and even the lives of their own children to save the students.
