Minab

About this record

This site documents the missile strike on Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran, on 28 February, and the 156 people — children, and the teachers who stayed with them — who were killed.

The people who compiled this record are not named here, for their own safety. That does not extend to the record itself: where a fact comes from is stated on the page it appears on, not hidden behind the anonymity of who gathered it.

It was compiled from family interviews conducted in the weeks and months after the attack, from photographs supplied by relatives, and from contemporaneous news reporting. Where a family could not be reached, or a fuller account was not yet available, the entry for that person holds only what could be confirmed — a name, a photograph, a grade. That incompleteness is stated plainly, not hidden.

The historical, political and technical chapters draw on public reporting. Where a claim is contested or uncertain, the text says so rather than presenting it as settled fact.

This record is not finished. It will be revised as more information reaches the people who compiled it.
